TIPS | OUTSIDE DANGER ZONES

Slippery Steps:
Are accidents waiting to happen, and before you know it, "Slip, trip and fall,"  you're leaving the hospital with crutches.
Solution
Salt: Easy and economical, keep a bag by your door.
Heated stair treads: Available at Costco for a great price.
Baking Soda: Functions like salt, it contains sodium which causes melting. The next time you have iced-over steps, reach into your pantry for the Arm & Hammer!

Clogged Gutters:
Clogged gutters can lead to ice dams on your roof. Water backs up and freezes near the edge of the roof, water pools and seeps into your house, causing water damage.
Solution
Easy! To prevent ice dams, clean out dead leaves and other gunk in your gutters so water can drain freely.

Tree Trouble:

Be aware of trees, branches or shrubs that touch your house or are beginning to dangerously encroach. Winter storms may have damaged high branches, creating a situation where roof damage is waiting.
Solution: Be sure to look up
                  Trim trees
Clean up any wood debris left in the yard.
